Tyres - what can we do?

Supply and fit new tyres (all makes, models and budgets)

Did you know? Choosing the right tyre for your vehicle improves safety and can even lower fuel costs.

Seasonal tyres – winter, summer and all-season fitting

Tip: Winter tyres stay flexible below 7 °C, giving up to 30% shorter braking distance on cold, wet roads.

Performance and run-flat tyres for high-performance or special vehicles

Value add: Run-flat tyres let you drive up to 50 miles at reduced speed after a puncture - ideal for motorway journeys.

Puncture repairs and slow leak fixes

Did you know? Many slow leaks come from small rim gaps or faulty valves, not nails—quick repairs often save buying a new tyre.

Tyre rotation to promote even wear and extend life

Tip: Rotating every 6,000 miles evens wear and can extend tyre life by up to 20%.

Wheel balancing for smooth, vibration-free driving

Did you know? Unbalanced wheels cause vibration and uneven wear; balancing improves ride comfort and fuel efficiency.

Tyre pressure checks and adjustments

Did you know? Driving just 5 psi under-inflated can reduce fuel economy by 2% and shorten tyre life.

Tyre safety inspections (tread depth, sidewall condition)

Tip: The legal UK tread depth is 1.6 mm across 3/4 of the tyre, but changing at 3 mm significantly improves wet braking.

Bead resealing for slow leaks at the rim

Value add: Resealing saves the cost of a replacement wheel when air is escaping at the rim edge.

Spare wheel fitting or temporary repair

Did you know? Many new cars only come with an inflation kit - having a proper spare gives added peace of mind.

Bead breaking and refitting for stubborn or oversized tyres

Tip: Proper bead breaking prevents rim scratches and ensures a perfect seal for larger or specialty tyres.

Disposal and recycling of old tyres

Did you know? We recycle all old tyres responsibly - some are even used in playgrounds!

Advice on correct tyre size and load rating for your vehicle

Tip: The wrong size or load rating can affect insurance and M.O.T compliance.

Guidance on legal tread depth and when to replace (UK minimum 1.6 mm across 3/4 of the tyre)

Did you know? Tyres over 5-6 years old can harden and crack, even if tread looks fine.

Check tread depth and condition. The UK legal minimum is 1.6 mm across 3/4 of the tyre, but we recommend replacement at 3 mm for better wet-weather braking. Also look for cracks, bulges, or uneven wear.

At least once a month and before long journeys. Correct pressure improves handling, fuel economy, and tyre life.

Many punctures in the tread area can be safely repaired if the tyre hasn’t been driven flat. Damage to the sidewall usually means replacement.

Summer tyres work best in mild, dry conditions. Winter tyres stay flexible below 7 °C for improved cold-weather grip. All-season tyres balance both for year-round use.

Not necessarily. If the others still have good tread and even wear, we can fit matching replacements to keep handling safe and balanced. Some sensitive 4x4 systems such as BMW X-Drive have a tread variation tolerance and in some cases may need all 4 replacing at the same time. This is to save further expense on repair costs down the line.

Common causes include uneven tyre wear, incorrect pressures, or wheel misalignment/balancing.

Lifespan varies with driving style and mileage, but most tyres last 20,000–30,000 miles or around 5–6 years before rubber hardens, even if tread looks good.

Yes, we supply and fit run-flat, performance and specialist tyres, and can advise which suits your vehicle and driving habits.

Alignment ensures wheels are set to the correct angles, preventing uneven wear, improving fuel economy and keeping steering true.

Keep them clean, dry, and out of direct sunlight. Store flat or hang them if possible, and check pressures before refitting.
